Optical Storage
Most optical storage devices, such as a standard CD (Compact Disc), save one bit per pulse. HVDs manage to store 60,000 bits per pulse in the same place, in a truncated cone shape, that has a diameter of 500 micrometers at the top and 200 micrometers at the bottom. The HVD Alliance is trying to improve the storage capacity further to touch its dream 3.9 TB mark by inserting a larger number of cones on each track.

There is no point discussing the PS4 now as that is probably 5-10 years away!!! The PS3 is said to be future proof. Its good to go for atleats 5 years!
They will probably release the PS4 a few months before wii 3 and xbox 720 v2 or whatever they are going to be called. We do not know what technology will be available in about a decade!

Whats the question, I’ve heard about HVDs and they seem like the future but Blu Ray just started to outsell DVD and Sony will be focussing on that for now. PS4 wont be out until 2016 so just put it out of your mind.

The PS4 is still many years away, and since BlueRay is just starting to become popular, it will be years before we see a new standard for DVD’s.

The industry is having enough problems with trying to keep the heat under control in the GPUS and CPUs using the current technology. I doubt the techees are even close to coming up with a CPU and GPU let alone the board components that could handle the heat those transfer rates would create.

Ok but I just read everything you said and I don’t see your question. Are you asking us if this will be in the PS4? But basically your just stating some big words and big numbers at us. Anyhow there’s not going to be a new system till about 2013. When I bought my PS3 in August of 07′ I asked the clerk if this system is going to be out and last a long time and he said that they’re not planning to put out a new system untill then. However if what your saying (whicis I havn’t heard about at all) will certainly make the PS4 the best system wihtout a doubt.

no need man i love my ps3 which looks great and plus ps4 not 4 another 9-10 yrs plus its gonna cost loads look how much blu ray costs let alone hvd so even when ps4 comes out im not buying it straight away.love my ps3 either way
